This project was brought to my attention prior to acquiring the equipment intended for the startup to this business. When I heard of this little man named Lucas and what he deals with on a daily basis, I jumped at the opportunity to share his story in whatever way I could. I was also able to partake in the first walk for Cystic Fibrosis in Penticton BC on May 28th 2017.
With nothing more than my trusty old OM-D Olympus camera, my skateboard and a bottle of water I was able to capture a tidbit of Lucas's story. With the help of Lucas's mother Jodie Lynn, a local wedding photographer, we had an introduction and shot the entire thing in just over 4 hours. Walking into this project with no prior introduction and somewhat blind, this in essence is documentary filmmaking. Together we came up with several shooting sequences over a that period and I was able to piece it together to tell a short story about a day in the life of this amazing kid. At the end of the day, I believe we were able to create a bit of a friendship too. Which to me is the best part about the entire process. Please enjoy..
